During the shareholder meeting on Tuesday, Dan Hesse, the chief of Sprint, stated that the company is estimated to spend $15.5 million on the iPhone over the next four years of a long-term investment, which will allegedly be paid off in 2015. Although Sprint doesn’t expect to make profits from selling the handset soon, Hesse added the company is very happy with the iPhone deal and doesn’t mind waiting a little longer to see the desired result.

The last Sparrow update was accompanied by a promise to implement push notifications regardless of Apple’s decision. The California device maker opted to extend the VoIP app privilege to Sparrow, which allows applications to keep an open connection in the background for various processes, such as notifications. Non-VoIP titles like Sparrow have to use their own servers for sending push notifications.

A U.S. appeals court has greenlit Apple to seek a sales ban on Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, which would effectively see the device withdrawn from the country’s retail stores. If Apple chooses to impose a ban, it has to do so until a trial can be held.

Foxconn has discarded suggestions that Terry Gou, the company’s chairman, leaked news of an upcoming Apple HDTV, The Next Web reports. Last week, it was said that Gou confirmed that Apple is planning to launch a new TV product. Foxconn now claims its chairman was misquoted, and says it can’t even speculate let along confirm any such device.

Intel chief Paul Otelini has hinted that the chip manufacturer will keep making more Apple-oriented processors, saying his goal was to design a so compelling product that the Phone maker can’t ignore it. Although all the chips found in Apple’s laptop and desktop devices are already Intel-made, the company is seeking to replace ARM-based CPUs in its mobile lineup.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple has been quietly developing its own Maps service for the upcoming iOS 6, in a possible effort to boot Google Maps out of its operating system. The report suggests iOS 6 may arrive with a new Maps application that will offer a much faster and more reliable service than its predecessor.
Just like its rival, Apple’s Maps app will draw driving directions and help users find locales on a map. Besides, it will make up for the loss of StreetView experience by displaying places in a in a 3D mode.
